CHECKER TO PUBLISH THIRD ALIEN LEGION COLLECTION DAYTON, Ohio – Checker Book Publishing Group has announced the December 2004 publication of Alien Legion: Footsloggers (ISBN 0-9753808-7-7, $19.95, 240 pp. trade paperback). Footsloggers is the third in a series of collections of the critically acclaimed comicbook series, which ran from 1987 to 1991. It collects eight issues and follows Alien Legion: Force Nomad (ISBN 0-9710249-0-1, $24.95, 240 pp. trade paperback) and Alien Legion: Piecemaker ISBN 0-9710249-4-4, $19.95, 240 pp. trade paperback). Alien Legion is based on a fascinating concept – a galaxy-hopping mercenary force a la the French Foreign Legion – developed by Carl Potts. Stories in this edition were written by Alan Zelenetz, with pencils by Frank Cirocco and Whilce Portacio, among others.
